Full Charge Bookkeeper / Senior Accountant: will manage daily accounts receivable and credit activities, support collection efforts, and oversee all accounts receivable, collections, and daily deposit activities, as well as full-charge bookkeeping for a number of QuickBooks entities. This role partners closely with Account Executives, Regional Leadership, Controller & CFO to ensure timely collections, effective credit management, and accurate bookkeeping / financial reporting for both the media enterprise and the family office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain weekly AR & Aging reports.
- Spearhead collections efforts with clients, particularly on escalated accounts.
- Review open accounts and coordinate collection efforts with account executives to resolve outstanding balances.
- Audit delinquent accounts to ensure all collection efforts have been exhausted.
- Run credit reports on new clients and advise on credit risk prior to onboarding.
- Deposit physical checks daily into our banking system via remote deposit machine.
- Prepare all bank reconciliations for parent and subsidiary companies on a monthly basis.
- Prepare bank reconciliations for various property and owner-related entities in QuickBooks
- Handle full-cycle accounting, month-end & year-end journal entries for various property & owner-related entities in QuickBooks
- Set up new entities in QuickBooks with new chart of accounts, as required.
- Interact with outside CPAs on year-end tax packages, and partnership related activity, K1s, 1099s, as needed.
- Maintain the company’s fixed asset schedule and prepare general ledger journal entries for depreciation.
- Track Fixed Asset acquisitions & dispositions.
- Prepare annual yearly compliance filing reports for L.A. County regarding fixtures and equipment.
- Process client refunds as requested.
- Maintain monthly Client Deposit Schedules.
- Prepare monthly Accounts Receivable reconciliations.
- Process credit card transactions.
- Upload and code monthly AMEX activity into Advantage software and oversee the corporate credit card program.
- Real estate, property accounting & partnership experience a HUGE plus.
Qualifications: Mandatory
- 8-10 years of experience as a Sr. Accountant.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Solid experience with ERP systems, advanced QuickBooks, and advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Data Analysis, etc.)
- Experience in bank reconciliations and general ledger management.
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and clients.
